IndyACT is a global league of independent environmental, cultural and social activists. IndyACT is currently focusing its operations in the Arab World. Although it is a new organization, IndyACT has already established several campaigns in the Arab region, especially Lebanon, on issues such as climate change, resource management, marine and coastal protection, and youth and women’s rights. The organization’s motto is “Passion with Professionalism” and applies it in all its campaigns.
IndyACT is currently seeking a Program Manager. Job Title Program Manager
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Program Manager is responsible for: supervision of the programs, including scheduling and delivery; personnel management; assistance with program promotion and events/outreach coordination; various administrative tasks.
Required Qualifications Education
A university degree in a related field is required.
? Three years experience.
? Field experience in project management and implementation.
? Experience at the regional and international levels is a plus.
? Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic. French is a plus.
General qualifications
? Strong management skills including: analytical skills, judgment and decision making; project management; resource management and managing multiple priorities.
? Experience facilitating group meetings and speaking in front of large audiences.
? Ability to develop and manage effective capacity-building programs for
organizations, staff members and volunteers.
? A strong capacity for analysis, communication and information management.
? The ability to take initiative and be adaptable in a changing environment.
? The ability to handle large volume of work and have excellent organizational skills.

? Knowledge of technical data and good administrative skills to provide programming support.
? Good knowledge of program planning, implementation and evaluation principles, practices and procedures.
? Ability to work with confidential material.
Tasks and Responsibilities
? Contribute ideas for campaign/project development and serve as senior program advisor to the Executive Director.
? Draft portions of programs and budget proposals, project proposals, program background, objectives, project reviews and evaluation.
? Monitor progress of projects/campaigns and activities by reviewing and analyzing work-plans, progress reports, final reports and other data for clarity, consistency and completeness.
? Identify problems; propose solutions and actions and follow-up with relevant departments.
? Provide programming and administrative support to campaigns and projects in areas of responsibility.
? Prepare briefs, background information, and periodical reports on status of campaign/project activities.
? Assemble and edit basic data required for planning and negotiation of program/project activities, considering different approaches and alternative methods for project design, management, problem identification and problem resolution.
? Follow-up on delayed documents, clarify information, and answer questions about clearance and processing requirements.
? Assist in the programming and control of resources from all sources of funds, prepare budget estimates and expenditure forecasts by analyzing and monitoring situation of resources as compared to planned activities and making recommendations to management for remedial action.
? Analyze and evaluate relevant budgets, objectives and activities, and initiate action as required.
? Participate in the preparation of conferences, seminars, workshops, training sessions and meetings. Speak on behalf of IndyACT when attending these gatherings alone. Serve as a focal
? point for selected technical subjects and attend meetings, workshops and inter-agency meetings, and present reports and papers.
? Supervise the work of support staff.
? Lead, organize, plan, supervise and monitor the work of campaigns and projects.
? Ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project through timely
provision of inputs, effective backstopping, timely and efficient delivery of outputs,
and monitoring and evaluation of the project activities.
? Guide the work of the project personnel, in designing, monitoring, evaluation and
reporting of project activities.
? Collaborate with the concerned governmental and non-governmental
organizations, the target groups and the donors, in the planning and implementation of activities.
